How does Shilajit work?<\/h2>\n

Shilajit is not an ordinary supplement but a phytocomplex: a biologically rich matrix of hundreds of compounds formed by millennia-long conversion of plant material into high mountain rock crevices. The two most active fractions are fulvic acid (60 to 80% of the extract) and dibenzo-alpha-pyrones (DBPs). <\/p>\n

Fulvic acid has a low molecular weight that allows it to pass through cell walls effortlessly. It acts simultaneously as an antioxidant via electron donation, as a mineral transporter for iron, zinc and magnesium, as an inhibitor of chronic inflammation via NF-kB and as a stimulator of Akkermansia muciniphila for the intestinal barrier. DBPs are unique compounds found nowhere else in nature and directly support the mitochondrial electron transport chain, synergistically with CoQ10. <\/p>\n

One controlled study showed that eight weeks of shilajit significantly increased the production of type I collagen. In dogs and cats with arthritis, reductions in pain and inflammation were observed after 120 days. <\/p>\n
