NGD Care – Maca powder is a powerful adaptogenic supplement based on the root of the Lepidium meyenii plant – better known as Peruvian ginseng. This root grows under extreme conditions at high altitudes in the Andes and has been used for thousands of years as a power food in traditional medicine and cuisine in Peru.

Maca is related to cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, radishes, and cauliflower. It is rich in B vitamins (Vit B1, 2, 3, 6 and 9), vitamins D and E, and minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc. Furthermore, maca contains Glucosinolates, sterols and polyphenols. The root is known for its adaptogenic action: it helps the body better cope with physical, mental or hormonal stress. In addition, it gives more energy and contributes to a better mood, stamina and hormonal balance.
