Description

This product supports protection against fleas and environmental insects in cats, puppies and sensitive animals that do not tolerate more intensive essential oil formulas. Specially formulated with cat physiology as a starting point.

Why a separate formula for cats?

Cats lack the liver enzyme glucuronyl transferase, which breaks down many terpenes and phenols. Essential oils in normal concentrations that are safe for dogs can lead to liver stress, neurological stimulation or toxicity in cats. This also applies to substances such as tea tree, eucalyptus, clove and high doses of cedarwood.

Gentle Flea & Tick Guard therefore works primarily via lavender hydrolate: the aqueous distillate of lavender that does not contain the volatile terpenes, but does contain scent components that disturb insect orientation. The microdoses of cedarwood and geranium are carefully dosed below the thresholds for cat liver safety. Quassia extract provides the insect-repellent bitter substances without enzymatic load.

Composition

Lavender hydrosol

Basis of the formula. No free terpenes, but odor components that disturb insect orientation. Safe for cat liver.

Cedarwood (microdosing)

Cedrol component interferes with sensory orientation of fleas. Dosed below the safety threshold for cats.

Geranium (microdosing)

Geraniol has tick-repellent properties. In microdosing safe and effective in cats.

Quassia Extract

Bitter substances with insect repellent effect, no liver burden.

Neem (micro amount)

Supports insect repellent in minimal, cat-safe concentration.

  • Suitable for cats, kittens (>10 weeks), puppies and sensitive dogs.
