Longevity support

Longevity support is the new name of NAD, resveratrol and ergotienoine. Do you want your dog, cat or yourself to stay vital for as long as possible? Longevity Support supports the body at the cellular level in healthy aging: more energy, better recovery and protection of the brain and heart. Can be used preventively from middle age.

Slowing down the aging process at the cellular level
Support energy production, DNA repair, and metabolism
Neuroprotective effect via ergothioneine
Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory due to resveratrol
Liposomal formulation for maximum and stable absorption

Description

QUICK SUMMARY

This supplement helps with: fatigue and reduced vitality in aging, cognitive decline in senior animals, weakened defenses in aging, and preventive support for healthy aging in dogs, cats, and humans.

How does Longevity Support work?

Aging starts at the cellular level: cells produce less energy, become damaged and are less able to repair themselves. Longevity Support targets four of the most fundamental ageing processes at once via NAD+, resveratrol, ergothioneine and astragalus.
NAD+ is the coenzyme that cells need for energy production and DNA repair. Production decreases sharply with age, in dogs as early as three to four years of age. Resveratrol activates sirtuins, the proteins that coordinate cell maintenance, and helps keep NAD+ available for longer. Ergothioneine, extracted from mushrooms and also called the lung elevation vitamin, directly protects mitochondria and brain cells from oxidative damage. Astragalus works on another level: it supports telomere length and the aging immune system (see the heading below).
A 2024 veterinary study showed improvement in cognitive function scores in senior dogs after NAD+ precursor supplementation. The combination of all four makes Longevity Support one of the most complete ageing-supporting formulas available.

Astragalus: telomeres and the immune system

Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus, also called Huang Qi) is a traditional Chinese tonic herb and the fourth active ingredient in Longevity Support. While NAD+, resveratrol and ergothioneine mainly support energy production in the cell, astragalus targets another component of ageing: the length of the telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that shorten slightly with each cell division, and the aging immune system.

Two substances in the root, astragaloside IV and cycloastragenol, activate telomerase, the enzyme that keeps telomeres at length. A 2024 randomized, placebo-controlled trial (de Jaeger et al., Nutrients) showed in healthy adults that an astragalus-based supplement increased median telomere length and decreased the proportion of short telomeres after six months, with no measured side effects. The supplement studied combined astragalus extract with grape seed extract and zinc, among others, so the effect is not entirely attributable to astragalus alone; however, the outcome is in line with previous mechanistic research into the telomerase-activating effect of astragaloside IV and cycloastragenol itself.

In addition, astragalus supports the immune system: polysaccharides from the root modulate immune cells, relevant because the immune system gradually weakens with age (immunosenescence), making senior animals more susceptible to infections. Direct clinical research in dogs and cats is still limited; A recent veterinary literature review (Pezzali & Shoveller, 2024) calls astragalus promising for gut health, immune function and antioxidant status in dogs and cats, but emphatically calls for more species-specific research before firm conclusions are possible.

What does this supplement do?

  • Supports energy production in cells during aging
  • Helps with fatigue and reduced vitality in senior animals
  • Protects brain and heart from aging damage
  • Supports telomere length and an aging immune system
  • Preventively deployable from middle age
  • Part of the NGD Care Old Age Bundle

When do you see results?

Longevity Support works on a mitochondrial and cellular level. From a systems biology point of view, this is the deepest level of intervention: it restores the energy production of the cell itself and supports the cell in the longer term via telomeres and the immune system. This takes time but gives a lasting effect that affects all tissues at the same time.

Week 1-3

NAD+ begins to build up in mitochondria. Ergothioneine accumulates in brain tissue. No visible effect yet.

Week 3-6

First signs: a little more energy and vitality. Less tired after exercise. More alert behavior in senior animals.

Month 2-3

Noticeably better vitality and alertness. Better cognitive function in senior animals. More desire to play and willingness to move.

Month 3+

Daily use structurally slows cellular aging, including telomere and immune support. Most effective preventively: start early, not only when you have symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

From what age can I start Longevity Support?

In dogs, NAD+ production often decreases from the age of three to four. Starting preventively from middle age is the most effective, but it also has a clear effect on senior animals with fatigue or cognitive decline.

What is the difference between NAD+ and NAD+ precursors?

NAD+ itself is poorly absorbed through the intestine. Precursors such as NR or NMN are therefore often used to increase NAD+ levels in the cell. Longevity Support combines a precursor strategy with resveratrol, which slows the breakdown of NAD+ by activating sirtuins. The liposomal processing also ensures good absorption of NAD.

Why does Longevity Support contain ergothioneine?

Ergothioneine is a rare antioxidant that accumulates specifically in tissues with a lot of oxidative stress, such as brain and mitochondria. It directly protects these cells from damage, making it a valuable addition to NAD+ and resveratrol.

What does astragalus add to NAD+, resveratrol, and ergothioneine?

The other three substances mainly affect energy production in the cell. Astragalus acts on a different aging mechanism: it supports telomerase activity, relevant to telomere length, and modulates the immune system, which gradually weakens with age. In this way, Longevity Support covers multiple aging routes at the same time instead of just one.

Is Longevity Support also suitable for humans?

Yes, the active ingredients NAD+, resveratrol, ergothioneine and astragalus are also relevant for humans and are being investigated in human studies for similar aging processes. If in doubt, consult a doctor for the correct dosage.

Works well with

Longevity Support restores cellular energy production. The supplements below reinforce this on additional levels.

Coenzyme Q10

NAD+ activates sir gardens for mitochondrial biogenesis. CoQ10 is the fuel for the mitochondrial chain, which then works more efficiently. Together the most complete mitochondrial support for aging.

Glutathione

Resveratrol increases endogenous glutathione production via Nrf2. Exogenous glutathione directly supplements this. Together, layered antioxidant strategy for cell and liver protection in aging.

Myco Adaptogen Complex

Lion’s Mane stimulates NGF for neurons, ergothioneine in Longevity Support protects those neurons. Together the strongest cognitive support for aging dogs and cats.

Curcumin

Curcumin inhibits inflammaging via NF-kB. Longevity Support restores cellular energy management. Together, we tackle both the chronic inflammation and the drop in energy that characterize aging.
