Description
This product supports temporary copper support in case of shortages or acute situations. Copper is involved in connective tissue building, pigmentation, wound healing and the immune system. Suitable for internal and external use in animals and humans. Not for long-term or preventive use.
The role of copper in the body
Copper is an essential trace element with a broad biochemical role. As a cofactor of the enzyme lysyl oxidase, copper is essential for the maturation of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of connective tissue, tendons, skin and vascular wall. Tyrosinase, the enzyme that produces melanin, is copper-dependent: a deficiency of copper can lead to depigmentation of the coat in dogs. Ceruloplasmin, the main copper carrier protein in the blood, plays a role in iron metabolism and antioxidant protection.
Colloidal copper in nanoparticle form has a higher bioavailability than inorganic copper salts. The light green-yellow color is characteristic of pure colloidal copper particles. Due to the powerful action of copper at the cellular level, caution is advised: copper is toxic in overdose, especially for animals with liver problems (such as the Bedlington Terrier or the Dalmatian dog with a predisposition to copper storage).
