Description

This product supports temporary copper support in case of shortages or acute situations. Copper is involved in connective tissue building, pigmentation, wound healing and the immune system. Suitable for internal and external use in animals and humans. Not for long-term or preventive use.

The role of copper in the body

Copper is an essential trace element with a broad biochemical role. As a cofactor of the enzyme lysyl oxidase, copper is essential for the maturation of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of connective tissue, tendons, skin and vascular wall. Tyrosinase, the enzyme that produces melanin, is copper-dependent: a deficiency of copper can lead to depigmentation of the coat in dogs. Ceruloplasmin, the main copper carrier protein in the blood, plays a role in iron metabolism and antioxidant protection.

Colloidal copper in nanoparticle form has a higher bioavailability than inorganic copper salts. The light green-yellow color is characteristic of pure colloidal copper particles. Due to the powerful action of copper at the cellular level, caution is advised: copper is toxic in overdose, especially for animals with liver problems (such as the Bedlington Terrier or the Dalmatian dog with a predisposition to copper storage).

Product Specifications

Concentration: 5 ppm
Type: copper nanoparticles in distilled water
Colour: light green-yellow (characteristic of pure colloidal copper particles)
Route of administration: internal and external
Free from: preservatives, excipients, alcohol

Applications

  • Temporary support in case of suspected copper deficiency (depigmentation of coat, poor wound healing).
  • Externally for wound healing and connective tissue support.
  • Internal: only temporarily and if deficiency is found, not as a preventive supplement.
  • Do not combine with other copper sources without consulting a veterinarian.

Caution advised: not suitable for long-term or preventive use. Not suitable for breeds with a predisposition to copper accumulation (Bedlington Terrier, Dalmatian, West Highland White Terrier). Caution in animals with liver problems, small animals or in the case of long-term administration. Consult a veterinarian if in doubt about the correct dosage or indication. Do not combine with other copper sources.
