Description
NGD Care’s Colloidal Silver eye and ear drops contain pure colloidal silver in a concentration of 10 PPM (parts per million), dissolved in purified distilled water. Thanks to the use of nano-silver particles , this liquid is particularly suitable for sensitive areas such as eyes and ears.
These drops are developed for external use and provide natural support for eye and ear problems in both animals and humans. The colloidal silver particles have a purifying effect and help support the microclimate of the skin and mucous membranes without irritants.
The product is 100% free of additives such as alcohol, preservatives or fragrances. This makes it safe to use with young animals, sensitive skin or when used around the mucous membranes.
The handy pipette makes it easy to dose exactly, for example a few drops in the eye or in the ear, or on a spot on the skin. The silver acts locally and mildly, with no known side effects or interactions.

- Antibiofilm activity in dogs with otitis externa
- In vitro studies showed that silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) significantly inhibited biofilm formation by S. pseudintermedius, a major cause of otitis externa in dogs

- Antimicrobial action against eye pathogens
- This in vitro study investigated the activity of a colloidal silver solution against pathogens such as S. aureus, S. epidermidis, P. aeruginosa and C. albicans. Results showed a significant reduction in living bacteria and early biofilm structures.

Narrative overview: AgNPs as antimicrobials in veterinary practice
Recent review (2025) describes the use of silver nanoparticles in veterinary medicine, including applications in respiratory infections. The article elucidates mechanisms such as membrane damage, oxidative stress and biofilm inhibition by AgNPs .
4. Risks of long-term use around eyes
Argyrosis by colloidal silver eye drops
One case describes conjunctival argyrosis (silver deposition in eye tissues) in a person who used colloidal silver eye drops for a long time. The skin color change persisted even after 16 months after discontinuation of use . This emphasizes that long-term use of silver substances in sensitive areas such as eyes poses risks.
