What is colloidal silver and how does it work?

Colloidal silver consists of ultra-finely divided silver particles suspended in purified water. The particle size determines the effect: the smaller the particles, the larger the surface area per unit of weight silver and the better the bioavailability. The nanoparticles in this product measure an average of 0.65 nanometers, which is exceptionally small and ensures maximum distribution and local uptake.

The mechanism of silver at the micro level is well documented: silver particles interact with bacterial cell membranes and disrupt ATP production and DNA replication of microorganisms. When applied topically to skin or mucous membranes, silver supports the local microclimate without the systemic action that is relevant when taken orally.

This product contains only stable nanoparticles, not silver ions. This distinction is relevant: ionic silver (silver nitrate or silver chloride) is unstable and can lead to argyria (blue-gray discoloration of the skin) when taken orally for a long time. Stable nanoparticles are not associated with this risk when used externally. The amber hue of the solution is characteristic of pure colloidal nanoparticles.
