N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) is a precursor to glutathione, an important antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative stress. NAC can break down pathogen biofilms, support the liver in detoxification, and protect the body from toxins released during the breakdown of infectious microorganisms. In addition, it contributes to glutamate regulation in the brain, which is relevant for behavior, stress and cognitive functions.

Berberine is a natural alkaloid with a broad antimicrobial spectrum. It is effective against parasites, bacteria, viruses, yeasts and fungi, especially Giardia and Candida. Berberine also supports a healthy microbiome and prevents overgrowth of pathogenic species. It also affects insulin sensitivity and intestinal epithelium.
