How does Relax Support work?

Stress and anxiety are not a behavioral problem in dogs and cats but a physical condition. The nervous system is “on” and cannot calm down on its own. Relax Support provides the substances that the nervous system needs to restore that balance: magnesium, L-theanine, L-tryptophan and vitamin B6.
L-theanine, extracted from green tea, modulates alpha-brain wave activity and gives a calming effect without drowsiness. L-tryptophan is the direct building block for serotonin, the substance that regulates rest and well-being. Magnesium supports the nervous system and helps with muscle tension. Vitamin B6 as P-5-P activates all these processes as a cofactor.
The liposomal form ensures faster and better absorption, even in animals with sensitive stomachs or in acute stress situations where rapid action is desired.

When do you see results?

Relax Support works through neurotransmitters that react relatively quickly. L-theanine has a direct effect on brainwave activity. How fast does Relax Support work?

L-theanine works within hours to days by acting directly on brainwave activity. Structurally calmer behavior and better sleep are usually noticeable after 1 to 2 weeks. In the case of chronic stress, the effect is most evident after 2 to 4 weeks.

Does Relax Support make my dog or cat drowsy?

No. Unlike many sedatives, Relax Support does not have a sedating effect. L-theanine provides a calming effect via alpha brain waves without reducing alertness, allowing the animal to function calmly.

Can I use Relax Support for fireworks or a one-off stressful event?

Yes, Relax Support is suitable for both acute situational stress (fireworks, travel, moving) and for daily use in case of chronic stress. For a one-off event, it can be started shortly in advance; for chronic stress, it works best in combination with Adaptogen Complex.

What is the difference between Relax Support and CBD oil?

Manual

- Store in a dry, sealed and room temperature.

Contraindications
- Do not use in animals with severe kidney problems without veterinary supervision (magnesium load).
- Caution in animals already receiving psychoactive medication (SSRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines): dosage only in consultation with veterinarian.
- Discontinue use 24–48 hours before anesthesia/surgery, unless otherwise advised by the veterinarian.
Side effects
- Rare: slight lethargy in susceptible animals (especially with concomitant sedatives).
- If magnesium intake is too high: soft stools.
Interactions
- Magnesium can reduce the absorption of certain antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones) and bisphosphonates – take at least 2 hours apart.
- Magnesium can affect the absorption of iron, calcium and zinc at high simultaneous doses – again, keep 2 hours apart
- Tryptophan: Gently combine with other serotonergic agents (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, triptans, some pain medications).
