Description

NGD Care – O-Mega Blend is a high-quality, sustainable omega 3 formula for dogs and cats, based on calanus oil. This oil is extracted from the Calanus finmarchicus, a zooplankton from the North Atlantic Ocean. Calanus oil differs from fish and krill oil by its unique composition of fatty acids in wax-ester form, which ensure a slower, deeper absorption in the intestine and a stronger biological effect.

The fatty acids in this oil – including EPA, DHA, SDA and alpha-linolenic acid – support the heart, muscles, brain, immune system and fat metabolism, among other things. Calanus oil activates the FFA4 receptor in the intestine, affecting inflammation inhibition, hunger suppression , and glucose metabolism . This oil is therefore an excellent choice for obesity, insulin resistance, heart problems and chronic low-grade inflammation.

In addition, calanus oil contains:

  • Astaxanthin – a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative damage
  • Policosanol – supports muscle function, cholesterol management and platelet aggregation

Our O-Mega Blend does not contain salmon, krill or mussel oil due to the lower purity and higher ecological impact of these sources. With calanus oil, you choose a pure, effective and responsible omega-3 supplement.

Dosage and use

  • Dosage dog and cat
    • Under 15 kg 1 capsule every other day
    • Above 15kg 1x daily 1 capsule
  • Manual
    • Capsules can be given whole or opened through food. Please note. Because of the astaxanthin, this supplement can stain your clothes.
  • Contraindications
    • Do not use in case of allergy to shellfish and crustaceans
  • Side effects
    • Very rare mild bleeding tendency
  • Interactions
    • Calanus oil can theoretically enhance the effect of blood pressure-lowering medication. Always consult a veterinarian when combining it with medication.
