How does Biofilm Balance work?
Chronic intestinal complaints are often maintained by biofilm: a sticky protective layer with which harmful bacteria and yeasts hide from the immune system and from treatments. As long as that layer is there, the intestine is difficult to reach and complaints keep coming back.
Biofilm Balance breaks through that layer with a combination of NAC, lactoferrin and digestive enzymes. NAC breaks down the biofilm structure. Lactoferrin inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria. Enzymes help to remove the released waste products so that the intestine does not become overloaded.
This supplement is always a part of a broader bowel repair protocol. After breaking the biofilm, it is essential to repair the intestinal wall and build up the microbiome.

When do you see results?
Breaking through biofilm is an active process. From a systems biology point of view, symptoms can temporarily increase slightly in the first week because toxins are released that the liver has to process. This is normal and a sign that the supplement is working.
NAC is starting to break through biofilm. Temporary increase in flatulence or soft stools possible. Normal and disappears by itself.
