Description
NGD Care Coenzyme Q10 is indispensable for the production of ATP, the energy of every cell. Organs with a high energy requirement, such as the heart, brain, liver and muscles, are relatively highly dependent on sufficient Q10 availability. With age, endogenous production decreases. Long-term medication use (such as statins, NSAIDs or prednisone), chronic illness, intensive exercise and toxic load can also lower the Q10 level.
NGD Care consciously chooses ubiquinone: the stable precursor form of Coenzyme Q10. Ubiquinol is the active intracellular form, but it is chemically less stable and more susceptible to oxidation in the supplement itself. Ubiquinone is converted to ubiquinol in the cell via physiological cofactors, including NAD+ and glutathione. The cell regulates this conversion itself.
Due to the liposomal formulation, absorption is significantly better than with conventional Q10 supplements. Research data suggest up to 8× higher bioavailability compared to standard ubiquinone. The fat globules protect the active ingredient from degradation in the gastrointestinal tract and at the same time support the cell membrane structure.
In dogs, Q10 has been most studied in the context of cardiac support. The myocardium has one of the highest mitochondrial densities of all organs and is therefore highly dependent on adequate Q10 availability. Coenzyme Q10 is used in dogs with heart murmurs or incipient mitral valve problems (MVD) as an adjunct to veterinary treatment, but also in senior animals with energy loss, in recovery after anesthesia or long-term medication use, in muscle recovery of active or working dogs and in neurological and liver support in chronic conditions.
Coenzyme Q10 is part of our aging protocol and works nicely synergistically with longevity support (NAD+) and glutathione.
