Description

NGD Care – O-Mega Blend is Calanus oil extracted from the small North Atlantic copepod Calanus finmarchicus and contains unique omega fats in the form of wax esters, which are released slowly and therefore provide stable absorption. It contains EPA and DHA precursors, SDA (stearidonic acid), antioxidants (such as astaxanthin) and polar lipids that have a beneficial effect on mitochondria, lipid metabolism and inflammatory processes. Our O-Mega Blend does not contain salmon, krill or mussel oil due to the lower purity and higher ecological impact of these sources. With calanus oil, you choose a pure, effective and responsible omega-3 supplement.

Calanus oil is often better tolerated than traditional fish oil and has no fishy taste. The slow release provides a mild effect on blood sugar levels and an even flow of energy.

The product supports cardiovascular health, brain function, metabolism, inflammatory balance and recovery. It fits well within integrative protocols for fatigue, metabolic imbalance, burnout, sports recovery and inflammation sensitivity.

  • Contraindications
    • Do not use if you are allergic to fish, shellfish and crustaceans
    • Anticoagulant medication (caution with high doses of omegas)
    • Do not combine with surgery (stop for 2 weeks)
  • Side effects
    • Mild: belching, soft stools
  • Interactions
    • Omegas have slight antiplatelet effects → cautious in anticoagulants.
    • SDA → conversion to EPA → synergistic with anti-inflammatory drugs.
    • No strong CYP interactions, but omegas modulate membrane fluidity and receptors (PPAR pathways), which may have an effect on metabolic medications (statins, antidiabetic drugs).
