Description

Liposomal Adaptogen Complex from NGD Care combines Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea). Ashwagandha and Rhodiola are two of the most researched adaptogens. They regulate the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis, support stress resistance, reduce mental fatigue and help the body cope with prolonged strain.

Ashwagandha has a calming effect, supports sleep quality and has mild thyroid modulating properties. Rhodiola has an activating effect, increases mental clarity and supports mitochondrial energy production.

This combination is ideal for stress, overload, burnout, sensitivity to stimuli, mood swings, fatigue and hormonal imbalance. Adaptogens work broadly: they normalize instead of stimulating or suppressing.
The formula is very suitable for stress and burnout recovery, for HPA imbalance (too high/too low cortisol), for exam stress, periods of mental overload and recovery after illness.

Contraindications
- Do not use in bipolar disorder
- Caution in case of hyperthyroidism (ashwagandha stimulates mild T4→T3 conversion)

Side effects
- Mild: drowsiness (ashwagandha), mild agitation (rhodiola)
- Rare: headache, GI complaints
Interactions
- Rhodiola mildly inhibits CYP3A4 and CYP2C9 , but clinical impact is limited.
- Ashwagandha affects thyroid hormones (T4/T3) → gently with levothyroxine.
- Both herbs affect GABA, serotonin, and dopamine, allowing synergistic effects with antidepressants (SSRI/SNRI/TCA).
- May enhance effect of benzodiazepines (GABA modulation).
- Mild hypotensive action → cautious with antihypertensive drugs.
- Immunomodulatory → consultation in autoimmune diseases or immunotherapy.
