NGD Care Surgery Recovery Package: Post-Operative Recovery for Dog, Cat and Human
Surgery is an acute, controlled form of tissue damage for the body. The recovery phase that follows is not a passive process. It is an active biological response in which the liver, immune system, nervous system and tissues are addressed simultaneously. The NGD Care Operation Recovery Package supports this recovery process on three levels: physiological, emotional and energetic.
The Surgery Essence is a flower essence mix based on the Star remedies and Australian Bush Flower Essences, with an energetic imprint of Star of Bethlehem, Fringed Violet, Angelsword, Papaver and Animalcare, among others. Flower essences are traditionally used for shock, trauma and emotional disorientation after major events. Star of Bethlehem is considered the classic basis for acute stress and trauma. This is an energetic and emotional intervention, not a pharmacological mechanism of action. In integrative practice, the observation that animals also change behaviourally and emotionally after surgery is a clinically relevant fact that deserves separate attention.
Green Detox supports the physiological processing of anesthetic residues and medication metabolites. Anesthesia generates reactive metabolites that cause oxidative stress in liver and kidney cells. Chlorella actively binds toxins through its fibrous cell wall and accelerates excretion. Spirulina provides phytocyanin, a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes oxidative damage from anesthetic metabolites and also provides a complete amino acid profile for tissue repair. Alfalfa is rich in vitamin K, chlorophyll and minerals and supports liver function as a central detoxification organ.
PEA Complex modulates the post-operative inflammatory response. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) inhibits mast cell degranulation and downregulates pro-inflammatory mediators via PPAR-alpha activation. Boswellia serrata selectively inhibits leukotriene synthesis via 5-lipoxygenase inhibition. The combination offers broader inflammation modulation than either individual, and does so without the gastrointestinal damage and kidney stress that are a real risk in post-operative NSAID use, especially in animals already burdened by anesthesia.
In the case of long-term anesthesia or in animals with slightly reduced liver function, we recommend adding Liposomal Glutathione to the protocol. Glutathione is the most abundant intracellular antioxidant and the central cofactor for liver phase II detoxification. Where the Chlorella-Spirulina-Alfalfa mix facilitates the excretion of toxins via binding and liver support, glutathione works deeper: it strengthens the intracellular processing capacity of the liver cell itself via the glutathione-S-transferase system. In the case of already reduced liver function or a heavy anesthetic load, this level of support is mechanistically more relevant than plant-based detox support alone.
With an antibiotic course around the operation, we recommend adding Fermented Probiotics and Prebiotic Fibers . In orthopaedic procedures, supplementation with mobility support is recommended: it provides hydrolysed collagen types I, II and V, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and chondroitin, the building blocks of cartilage and joint capsule that are particularly relevant in joint and bone surgery.
