Intestinal Recovery Trajectory Human
Description
QUICK SUMMARY
The NGD Care Bowel Recovery Program for people and children helps with: varying or chronic bowel complaints, bloating, skin problems from the intestine such as eczema, a weak immune system and persistent fatigue without a clear cause. If you or your child has not been well for a long time and individual supplements have not solved anything, this process is the systemic approach that is missing.
Our preference: start with an extensive intestinal examination
Prior to the process, we recommend having an extensive stool examination carried out at a specialized laboratory, such as RPSH or NL Lab. Such a study maps the pathogens present, biofilm load and microbiome composition, so that the trajectory can be targeted and the effect can be monitored objectively. This research can be supervised by Stefan Veenstra DVM, also a human bowel therapist, via NGD Care Consult.
Why a program and not a separate supplement?
Chronic intestinal complaints are rarely caused by one thing. They are the result of a disrupted system: an intestine where harmful bacteria have nested in protective biofilms, an intestinal wall that has been compromised and has become permeable (intestinal permeability), a microbiome that has become unbalanced and an immune system that is constantly overloaded by stimuli that leak in through that leaky intestinal wall.
A single supplement can address one link in this system, but it does not solve the whole. A biofilm breakthrough alone does not work if the intestinal wall does not recover afterwards. Intestinal wall repair alone does not work if the pathogens are still present. That is why a trajectory is needed: an ordered series of steps that follow and reinforce each other.
From a systems biology point of view, the intestine is not an organ but an ecosystem. Recovery requires an ecosystem strategy, not a single intervention — in adults and children.
How does the Bowel Recovery Trajectory work?
The process works in three successive phases. Each phase builds on the previous one. The order is not arbitrary but mechanistic: the intestine must first be remediated before recovery is possible, and recovery must be stable before reconstruction can take place effectively.
This program is suitable for both adults and children. Dosages are tailored to age and body weight. For children under 12 years of age, and for the use of Shilajit and the phase 3 supplements in children, we recommend that you discuss this in advance with a doctor, pediatrician or orthomolecular (pediatric) therapist.
No supplement can compensate for what a wrong diet does on a daily basis. Ultra-processed foods, high levels of sugar and artificial additives maintain the biofilm, impoverish the microbiome and cause continuous low-grade inflammation. Without dietary change, the biofilm returns within a few weeks at the end of the process, including all complaints. The supplement phases are only sustainably effective on a diet that supports rather than undermines the microbiome.
Varied, unprocessed diet as a basis: vegetables, fruit, complete protein sources (fish, egg, legumes, lean meat) and healthy fats. Alternate protein and vegetable sources regularly for maximum microbiome diversity. The Nutrition Centre’s Wheel of Five is a reliable and recognisable starting point, also for families with children.
Plenty of fruit and vegetables per day, spread over the meals. For children: offer accessible and recognizable, for example processed in smoothies, soups or sauces. The fiber is the prebiotic food for the microbiome that wants to build the pathway.

In the first phase, the intestine is thoroughly remediated. Harmful bacteria, parasites and yeasts hide behind biofilms. As long as that protective layer is in place, no supplements or treatments reach the pathogens effectively. Biofilm Balance breaks through that layer. Green Detox, and the lactoferrin in Biofilm Balance, tackle the released pathogens. Liposomal Curcumin and Vitamin C inhibit the inflammatory response that is released during biofilm degradation. In the meantime, Prebiotic Fibers feeds the good bacteria so that they can occupy the space that is released.
L-Glutamine is the primary fuel for the enterocytes that have to repair the intestinal wall. Shilajit strengthens the barrier via fulvic acid and stimulates Akkermansia muciniphila for the mucus layer. The liposomal Daily Multi provides active, methylation-friendly B vitamins that support nerve function in the intestinal wall, supplemented with a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals for energy and recovery. Fermented probiotics nourish the restorative microbiome.
For whom the chronic intestinal complaints have led to cellular exhaustion, mitochondrial dysfunction or a weakened immune system at the system level. Longevity Support supports cellular energy recovery through NAD+. Liposomal Coenzyme Q10 restores mitochondrial energy production. Liposomal Glutathione supports the liver in further detoxification. Myco Immune Complex modulates the immune system that has been chronically overloaded due to the long-term intestinal inflammation. Phase 3 is only recommended for children in consultation with a doctor or orthomolecular child therapist.
When do you see results?
A chronically disturbed intestine does not recover in a week. The timeline below is based on the system-biological logic of the process: first remediation, then recovery. At the start of phase 1, sometimes expect a temporary increase in symptoms because toxins are released during biofilm breakdown. That’s a sign that it’s working.
Biofilm breakdown started. Temporarily a little more flatulence or soft stools possible. Normal and disappears.
Calmer bowel, firmer stools. Fewer abdominal complaints. More energy. The intestinal environment is remediated.
Phase 2 started. Intestinal wall visibly recovers: better absorption, better skin, less susceptibility to infection.
Full recovery visible in bowel movements, energy, resistance and well-being. Phase 3 optional for deeper cellular repair.
Is the process going differently than expected or do you still not see any improvement after eight weeks? Schedule an intake via NGD Care Consult. The process is then personally coordinated in consultation with a doctor or orthomolecular therapist.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I follow this route without adjusting my diet?
Nutritional change is phase 1a and the basis of the entire process. Without this step, the biofilm often returns within a few weeks after the process, including the complaints. Supplements alone are insufficient if diet continues to undermine the microbiome.
Why does the process take so long, up to 24 weeks?
Chronic intestinal damage is built up over months to years and does not recover faster than the underlying biology allows: first the biofilm must be broken, then the intestinal wall must recover, and only then does deeper cellular repair make sense. Skipping this order actually delays the result.
Can I also follow this program if I or my child has already had antibiotics or deworming?
Yes, this route is also suitable after antibiotic treatments or deworming, because both can further disrupt the microbiome. Phases 1 and 2 help rebuild the microbiome and intestinal wall.
Is it normal for the symptoms to get worse in the beginning?
Yes, when the biofilm breaks through in phase 1, more complaints can temporarily occur because toxins are released. This is usually short-lived and a sign that the process is working. If in doubt or persistent aggravation, contact a doctor.
Is this program suitable for children?
Yes, the process can also be used in children, with a dosage that is tailored to age and body weight. Before using Shilajit and the phase 3 supplements in children, we recommend discussing this with a doctor, pediatrician or orthomolecular pediatric therapist in advance.
Is a bowel examination mandatory before I start?
Not mandatory, but our preference. An extensive stool examination at a specialized laboratory such as RPSH or NL Lab maps the pathogens present, biofilm load and microbiome composition, so that the process can be used in a more targeted way. This research can be supervised by Stefan Veenstra DVM, also a human bowel therapist, via NGD Care Consult.
